RATES
Square Inch Price
I charge 2 cents per square inch for all basic designs.
Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .02 = $96

I charge 3 cents per square inch for all semi-custom designs. Example A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80= 4800 x .03 = $144

My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.
Batting
I use and stock my favorite Hobbs Heirloom Premium batting in the 80/20 cotton/poly blend, 100% cotton, and in the 100% poly. I have limited quantities of wool batting in stock, please ask for availability.
Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.
I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch.
For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 65" of the batting of your choice.
65" of 100% cotton deluxe loft @ $0.40/in = $26.00
65" of 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.33/in = $21.45
65" of 100% poly @ $0.26/in = $16.90
Thread
I stock Glide #40 threads. I don't charge any extra fees for thread use; it's included in your square inch price.
My personal style attempts to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.
Shipping
Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in North Carolina, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.
Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $100 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it. ****Once the package has been turned over to the USPS, I'm no longer responsible for USPS actions****
Other Costs
As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price. I'm required by the State of North Carolina to collect a 7% sales tax on the quilting service and batting portion of the invoice. Batting, shipping, and any design/pantograph fees are not subject to sales tax if outside the state of North Carolina.
Custom Made Quilts
If you are looking to have a quilt made for yourself or for a gift please email me at scraptacularstitchery@gmail.com . We will discuss patterns, fabric, battings, and pantographs. ​If you already know the pattern, fabric, batting and pantographs please include this information in the email along with a time frame of when you' will need the quilt.
If you're not sure where to start that's ok also. In your email let me know a little about yourself and what this quilt will be used for and I will make some suggestions and send you in the direction of some great pattern designers.
​When we talk pricing there is a wide range of variables that affect the pricing. With each quilt a pattern must be purchased or provided. Fabric pricing can range from $5/yd to $15/yd depending on brand and quality. Batting options are on the "Rates" page and range from $0.26/in to $0.50/in. Pantographs start at $0.02/in for basic designs and go up for more complex or custom work.​
These base rates will vary upon your choices:

Twin $500
Double/Full $600
Queen $700
King $800
Please allow minimal of 2 weeks for baby quilts and more for larger quilts.
