My nephew, Murphy, like most children, has an obsession with all things Dino. So for his "big bed" quilt I choose the Dinosaurs Quilt pattern by Elizabeth Hartman. For Murphy's quilt I choose to go with all solid colors from the Robert Kaufman Kona Collection. We don't have any local quilt shops and the local big brand company didn't have printed fabric that fit his style.

My sticky note pad and my organizer bin were my best friend during this under taking, along with a lot of starch spray. Once I got one Dino down the rest just started falling into place and I developed a rhythm. I will totally admit that I was very nervous to take on a 1000+ piece quilt, but my nephew and niece have me completely wrapped around their pinkies, so me and that 1/4" seem allowance became besties.

I really enjoyed making this quilt and I truly believe it made me a better quilter and strengthen my patience. Before I got my Infinity Handiquilter, I was using a Nolting longarm that my cousin had. I went with straight line quilting to accent the Dino's and the plants.
