This quilt holds a special place in my life. I saw the Mason Jar Quilt hanging up in a booth at QuiltCon 2026 in Raleigh NC, took a picture and said I've got to make this quilt. Ruby Star Society designed this pattern and has a really cute Charm Pack that has food designs on it. For me mason jar's hold memories of summers snapping green beans with family all sitting around and pressure can's bubbling away. Mason jars also were used for holding fresh cut flowers from my parents yard along with watching the miracle of watching a butterfly come to life. One particular memory is my sister and I catching lighting bugs and putting them in a jar and releasing them in the house. I remember we had the lights off laying on the living room floor and my mom walking in to her horror we had released maybe 50 lighting bugs in her house.

So, when it came to me making the Mason Jar Quilt I picked flowers and butterflies from the Love Always collection from Anna Maria Textile. The vibe colors bring back so many memories many my favorite as a child. For backing I wanted something that was soft so I went with a fluffy minky fabric from Hobby Lobby. The pattern can be downloaded for free from the Fat Quarter Shop website. For the pantograph I did Camber from the Longarm League because I felt like it echoed the butterfly affect.
